- Aprilia Tuono 660 power figures revealed
- Production model to be unveiled later this year
- Unlikely to be launched in India anytime soon
The Aprilia Tuono 660 was unveiled at the EICMA 2019 in Italy as a concept motorcycle alongside the production-spec RS660.
The Tuono 660 is based on the RS660 although with streetfighter styling. It gets a semi-fairing that is fitted with the same split, full-LED headlamp as the RS660. The motorcycle, however, sports a raises, single-piece handlebar and a comfortable-looking pillion seat, something which its faired counterpart misses out on.
While it was known that the Tuono 660 will come powered by a 660cc, parallel-twin motor as the RS660, it has now been revealed that the motor will be detuned. The Tuono 660’s motor will produce 95bhp; a decrease of 5bhp as compared to the RS660. Nevertheless, the Tuono’s electronic rider aids package will be borrowed from the supersport and consist of wheelie control, cornering ABS, engine brake control, traction control as well as five ride modes.
Aprilia is expected to globally unveil the Tuono 660 around the final quarter of 2020 and commenced deliveries in the first quarter of 2021. However, there is no confirmation about the Tuono 660 or RS660’s launch timeline in India.
