- Comes with a new street-legal SC Project exhaust
- Gets aluminum and carbon parts for weight reduction
- Unveiled at EICMA
Aprilia has taken the wraps off its latest limited edition model, the RS660 Extrema. Compared to the standard model, the bike gets a host of updates to amp up its performance quotient. Here’s the full list.
While the RS660 Extrema has retained the design language from the standard model, it’s equipped with a new seat cowl and an anodized aluminum bracket for rear footpeg removal. It now weighs 166kg. Apart from that RS660 Extrema also sports a funkier paint scheme. Further, the belly pan and front fender are also made of carbon fibre.
The limited edition Aprilia supersport is powered by the same 659cc parallel twin liquid-cooled motor with the output rated at 100bhp and 66.5 Nm. It’s mated to a six-speed gearbox and Aprilia has updated the software to allow the rider to set up the gearbox for race shift. For more weight reduction, the Noale firm has also employed a new street-legal exhaust from SC Project.
On the feature front, the Aprilia RS660 Extrema gets the same set as the standard model – traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control, engine map, and riding modes. All these are managed by the six-axis IMU.
Aprilia hasn’t revealed the total number of units or the pricing as of now. But you can expect it to cost substantially more than the standard model. Moreover, it’s likely to be limited to the international market only.
