- Aprilia RSV4 RR and Tuono V4 RR Misano editions unveiled for the US
- Will be limited to 100 units each
- Sport a special, race-derived livery with Italian tri-colour theme
Aprilia has unveiled the limited-edition models of its flagship sportsbike, the RSV4 1100 RR, and street naked, the Tuono V4. Christened as the Misano editions, both bikes were showcased last week at the International Motorcycle Show in Long Beach, California and will go on sale exclusively in the US market. Limited to just 100 units each, the Italian bike maker has priced this RSV4 RR at US $17,999 (Rs 12.85 lakh) while the Tuono V4 costs US $15,999 (Rs 11.41 lakh).
In order to flaunt their exclusivity, both the limited edition Aprilias adorn a special race-derived livery sporting an Italian tri-colour theme. These graphics essentially pay tribute to Aprilia’s former racer Loris Reggiani, who had won a racing championship at the Misano circuit in Italy in 1987. To depict their authenticity, Aprilia has also provided a serial number for each unit of both bikes which is present on the top triple clamp of the RSV4 while the Tuono has it on the fuel tank cover. Lastly, rounding off the cosmetic additions is the ‘A’ logo on the fuel tank and fairing which is present on Aprilia race bikes.
Sporting the aforementioned aesthetic elements, the motorcycles remain identical to their standard counterpart in all other aspects. Powering the new RSV4 RR 1100 and Tuono V4 1100 is a 1,078cc, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC (double overhead camshaft) motor. While it churns out 218bhp and 122Nm in the former, the latter produces 175bhp and 121Nm. Furthermore, both motorcycles also come equipped with top-notch cycle parts and Aprilia’s high-tech electronics package.
In India, Aprilia hasn’t yet launched the new RSV4 1100 model as it’s 999cc predecessor is still on sale. However, the Tuono V4 RR 1100 is already available in the Indian market at Rs 20.05 lakh (ex-showroom).
