Aprilia has unveiled the Tuono 150 at the 2018 Auto Expo along with the RS 150. The bike not only borrows its name from its bigger sibling, the Tuono V4 1100, it also derives styling cues from the latter.
The streetfighter is powered by a 150cc liquid-cooled, fuel injected, single-cylinder 150cc engine that produces 18bhp at 10,000rpm and 14Nm at 7,500rpm. This unit is mated to a six-speed gearbox and a quick shifter as an option.
Braking duties are taken care of by a 300mm disc up front and the 218mm disc at the rear with ABS as standard. It rides on 40mm telescopic forks for the front and a monoshock at the rear.
The company will evaluate the response towards the Tuono 150 in the Indian market before launching the bike here. We can expect Piaggio to launch the bike by the end of this year or early 2019 priced around Rs 1.2 lakhs to Rs 1.3 lakhs. Once launched, the bike will take on the Yamaha FZ25 and the KTM 200 Duke.
