- Aprilia SXR 125 to be based on SR125
- Likely to be introduced by end of 2020
- Will get same maxi-scooter styling as its bigger sibling
Aprilia recently showcased the SXR 160 at the 2020 Auto Expo in India. The manufacturer also revealed that it will be launching a more affordable SXR 125 in the country.
The scooter will sport a maxi-scooter styling similar to the SXR 160. However, the SXR 125 could miss out on the full-LED headlamp and the disc brake up front to keep costs in check. It will share its underpinnings with the SR125 and use the same 124cc, fuel-injected engine that produces 9.4bhp and 8.2Nm of torque. Suspension duties will be taken care of by telescopic forks for the front and single shock at the rear and the SXR 125 could ride on 12-inch wheels on both ends.
Aprilia will launch the bigger SXR 160 in India by September 2020 and the SXR 125 is expected to arrive by the end of this year. It will go head on against the Burgman Street 125 and the Honda Activa 125 in the country.
