Aprilia took the covers off the Tuono 125 which will be sold in international markets. Although it is unlikely to make its way to India, as Aprilia would not be able to price it competitively, it would have been a worthy rival to the KTM 125 Duke that is sold here. So, we list down all there is to know about the new Tuono 125.
Styling
The Tuono 125 borrows its styling from its bigger siblings- the Tuono 660 and Tuono 1100 that are expected to be launched in India soon. The front end also bears resemblance to the SXR 160 maxi-scooter with the split, full-LED headlamp. Apart from its fascia, the rest of the design remains nearly untouched compared to the previous model.
Engine
Powering the 2021 Tuono 125 is the same 124cc, liquid-cooled, 4-valve engine as the RS 125. This motor churns out 14.75bhp at 10,000rpm and 11.1Nm at 8,000 rpm and is mated to a six-speed gearbox.
Suspension and braking
Suspension duties on the Aprilia Tuono 125 are handled by a pair of 40mm USD forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. Meanwhile, its braking equipment consists of a 300mm front disc and 218mm rear disc. Moreover, the motorcycle rides on 17-inch wheels that are wrapped in Michelin rubber.
Features
The Aprilia Tuono 125’s feature list is almost on par with the KTM 125 Duke. While both motorcycles offer an LCD instrument cluster, the Tuono 125 goes a step ahead and offers Bluetooth connectivity and a USB charging port. It also gets a dual-channel ABS, unlike the 125 Duke that comes with a single-channel ABS as standard.
