Ariel, the same manufacturer that produces the bonkers Atom four-wheeler, has announced that it will offer a tuned 'R' version of its two-wheeled product, the Ace. As always, it will be a limited-run variant, and will be on display at the Birmingham NEC on November 18.
You probably won't get to see one on the street, as there will be only 10 examples made, and Ariel promises that each will have 'substantially' more power than the stock Ace's paltry 173 bhp, generated from the Honda VFR1200F's motor. It should be light enough for a thrill or two - Tom Siebert, head of the Ace team says "The R has a lot of carbon, a lot of machined aluminium and a lot of power." This will not be unlike the FGR Midalu 2500 V6, then - but we're expecting a sticker price slightly lower than that.
The image you see is of the Ace and not the R - but all will be revealed in Birmingham come the 18th.
