- 450 Apex could be Ather’s new flagship offering
- To be more performance-oriented than the 450X Gen 3
- Official launch might take place later this month
Ather Energy is preparing to launch a new electric scooter christened the 450 Apex. This will be the brand’s flagship offering inclined purely towards performance. Ahead of its official launch, which is expected to take place later this month, the Bengaluru-based brand has teased the scooter twice. Interestingly, the latest teaser shows the enthusiastic reaction of a couple of Ather customers after riding the 450 Apex around a racetrack.
As of now, there aren’t any technical details available about the electric scooter. However, the suffix ‘Apex’ points towards improvements in terms of top speed, acceleration, and perhaps handling over the 450X Gen 3, which is Ather’s existing flagship product. For reference, the 450X Gen 3 has a top speed of 90kmph and can do 0-40kmph in 3.3 seconds. Now, anything faster and quicker than this will give the 450 Apex a considerable edge over most of its rivals and put it close to the Ola S1 Pro which goes up to 120kmph.
As for the pricing of the 450 Apex, it will be known only at the official launch of the scooter. Since it’s expected to be positioned above the 450X Gen 3, whose top-end variant costs Rs. 1.70 lakh (ex-showroom), the price of the 450 Apex might be close to Rs. 2 lakh.
