Ather Energy has updated its product portfolio with the introduction of a more affordable variant of the 450X electric scooter in India. With this, the Ather 450X range is available in two variants – standard and Pro-Pack – the latter getting a wide range of features over the base model. Meanwhile, the Bangalore-based manufacturer has discontinued the 450 Plus variant of the electric scooter from our market.
Previously, the Ather 450 Plus was the most affordable model in the company’s portfolio that received fewer features than the 450X. With the revision of the variants, the standard 450 is the newest entry-level model in the company’s portfolio. The new base model gets the same specifications as the Pro-Pack version. Both variants also feature an identical colour palette that comprises six options – Space Grey, Still White, Salt Green, True Red, Cosmic Black, and Lunar Grey.
However, the standard variant features a single-riding mode, misses out on fast charging, and does not get connectivity functions. Further, it misses access to the Ather Grid charging network and comes with a shorter warranty for the battery pack than the Pro-Pack version.
These revisions have allowed Ather Energy to price its electric scooter more competitively, and the standard model of the Ather 450X is priced at Rs. 98,183. Meanwhile, the Pro-Pack version is priced at Rs. 1,28,443 (both ex-showroom, Delhi, including state subsidy).
