- Will ditch the touchscreen display for a coloured screen
- Asking price set at Rs. 1,29,999 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru)
- Will be powered by a 3kWh battery
Ather Energy has revealed new details of its upcoming electric scooter, the 450S. It’ll be equipped with a new LCD instead of the touchscreen we see on the 450X line. The layout and graphics will also change with the new console in the application. Overall, the new instrument cluster would help in keeping the cost low.
Ather will power the 450S with a 3kWh motor that will offer an IDC (ideal driving conditions) range of 115km. The 450S’ top speed will be 90kmph, the same as its current models. The above image shows the upcoming Ather scooter’s ride modes, speedometer, odometer, total range, and time readings. We also expect Ather to offer smartphone connectivity judging by the previous teaser image of the console.
On the design front, we expect Ather 450S to get the same sporty styling cues as the current 450X. Therefore, it’s likely to feature the same sharp front end and receive a single-piece seat and a decently spacious floorboard. Even the front forks with the rear monoshock, front and rear disc brakes, and belt drive are expected to be carried over.
Ather has already revealed the asking price of the 450S and it’s set at Rs. 1,29,999 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The official launch has been slated for 3 August and it will rival the Ola S1, TVS iQube S, and the Bajaj Chetak.
