- Gets a 3.7kWh battery
- Claimed to offer 105kms true range
- Bookings and test rides commence from today
Bengaluru-based Ather Energy has launched its latest offering, the 450 Gen 3 in India at Rs 1,55,657 (ex-showroom). It’s received updates on the feature front and also gets a larger battery for a longer range than its predecessor.
The Ather 450X Gen 3 is powered by a 3.7kWh lithium-ion battery against the previous gen model’s 2.9kWh unit. Ather claims this bump translates to a 105km range in the Eco mode and 85km range in Ride mode whereas the previous model clocked 85km in Eco mode and 70km in Ride mode. On the other hand, the 450 Plus can now clock 70km instead of 60km in Ride mode and 85km against 70km in the Eco mode.
With the larger battery coming into play, the 0 - 80 percent charging time too has increased by 55 minutes while the 0 - 100 percent charge time has been reduced by 5 minutes (5 Hours and 40 minutes).
Moreover, the Gen 3 also gets 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM. This should make the overall UI faster since the older model featured 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM.
Other changes include redesigned rear-view mirrors and new 12-inch MRF tyres with a tad rounder profile. The Ather 450X Gen 3 tips the weight scale at 111.6kg unlike the previous model’s 108kg.
Lastly, the motor, suspension, brakes and the overall design have been carried over. Compared to the older model, the Ather 450X costs 5,000 more. So, is the premium worth it? Check out our first ride review to know more.
