- Gets improved user interface for its display
- Navigation is powered by Google now
- Four new colour options on offer now
Ather Energy has announced a bunch of new updates for its 450X Gen3 electric scooter at the Ather Community Day 2023 held in Bangalore on 7 December. These revisions come in the form of updated software, enhanced comfort and convenience, and a widened colour palette.
The most notable change is the introduction of AtherStack 5.0 software, which brings along a new user interface for the display as well as an improved navigation system. The new UI comprises a split-type display on the home screen for allowing the rider to monitor and tweak different aspects more easily and quickly. Also, the introduction of gesture controls makes toggling through different screens a more intuitive and seamless affair.
Ather’s 450X Gen3 has also become the first scooter to offer onboard navigation powered by Google. With the introduction of Vector Maps, live traffic, and the rider’s perspective view, the navigation experience should be much better for the riders now. Furthermore, the new AtherStack 5.0 also facilitates the new AutoHold function which is Ather’s version of hill hold. This prevents the scooter from rolling back or forth when the rider intends to come to a halt on an elevation. What’s more, Ather has also tweaked the design and cushioning of the seat for enhanced seating comfort for the rider and the pillion.
With the aim to build more trust about the longevity of its battery amongst customers, Ather has also released a new Battery Protect warranty program which extends the battery warranty to five years/60,000km. While the 450X comes with this warranty as standard, the buyers of lower-spec 450 Plus can opt for the additional two-year warranty by paying Rs 6,999. The brand also announced a new Ather Neighborhood Charging solution which intends to provide charging points in shared private spaces like apartments and office buildings. These points will be compatible with all electric vehicles, apart from Ather scooters.
Lastly, the Ather 450 series will now be available in a total of six colour options including four new shades namely Cosmic Black, Salt Green, Lunar Grey, and True Red. The company has also retained the older Space Grey and White paint schemes.
