-Shows real-time availability of chargers on Google Maps
-New chargers installed also show up on the Maps
Ather Energy has joined hands with Google to roll out an update forits Google Maps-based navigation system. It shows the real-time availability of electric two-wheeler charging stations.
What this means is that it allows you to navigate to an unoccupied charging station and top up the battery of your electric two-wheeler. This saves one the hassle and time taken to ride to a charging station, only to discover that the charging point is in use by someone else. The feature was the need of the hour.
Ather adds that the system shows the availability of LECCS or Light Electric Combined Charging System charging points. The LECCS is the new Indian standard for charging connectors. This means irrespective of the make, electric two-wheelers with LECCS charging ports can charge their EVs.
As of the end of March, 2024, Ather has 1973 charging stations across the country. The company adds that whenever a new charging station is installed, it will be featured on Google Maps.
Showing the status of available charging points on a real-time basis will help users work out the distance and time taken to get to an available spot and also help alleviate some of the anxiety associated with battery range.
