- Live traffic indicator introduced
- Shows two-wheeler-specific routes
- GPS latching system improved
Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler maker, Ather Energy, has rolled out over-the-air updates for its 450X electric scooter. These software updates are aimed at improving the onboard navigation experience of its electric scooters.
Diving straight into the nature of updates, first up is the introduction of live traffic indicators on the scooter’s dashboard. This provides a real-time view of traffic conditions along the rider’s route to help them be up-to-date and plan their trips better. Moreover, Ather has partnered with Google Maps to facilitate its scooters with two-wheeler-specific routes. This should make its customer’s trips more convenient and safer. Plus, Ather has improved the GPS latching system of the 450X to help it establish a connection as soon as the scooter is turned on.
Notably, these updates are being rolled out in a phased manner and should be available on all Ather 450X Gen 3 models by the end of this month. In other news, Ather is also prepping to launch a new electric scooter, the 450X Apex on 6 December, 2024. Going by its teaser, the Apex is expected to be the most performance-oriented iteration of the 450 lineage so far. It might also be the most expensive e-scooter in Ather’s portfolio.
