- Plans to install 5,000 fast chargers in three years
- Will have a network of 600 retail stores in three years
EV maker Ather Energy has partnered with India’s leading EV charging player, Magenta ChargeGrid, to expand the Ather Grid charging infrastructure in the country. With this partnership, Ather will gain access to Magenta ChargeGrid’s multiple charging locations across the country.
It will also help in collectively accelerating the expansion of public charging networks, thereby fast-tracking the adoption of EVs in India. The partnership will give Ather Grid access to various locations across Tier I, Tier II and Tier III cities and highways in India.
The company currently has a network of over 330 fast-charging Ather Grid Points across 35 cities in India and plans to install 5,000 fast chargers in the country in the next 3 years. The company claims that these charging stations will cover strategic locations within cities and on highways to alleviate range anxiety and increase EV adoption in the country.
Ather has a footprint of 36 retail outlets across 31 Indian cities. The company plans to develop new scooters and increase its retail network to 600 stores in the next three years. Moreover, Ather plans to expand its annual production capacity to one million scooters from the current four lakh units.
