- Ather 450X offered in two different models
- Asking price starts at Rs. 1,29,999
Ather Energy has unveiled not one but three new scooters in its lineup: a 450S and two 450Xs. While the names remain unchanged, the X trim is now available in two trims with different batteries and features. On the other hand, the 450S now reveals its entire specs. Let's take a look at all three Ather 450 offerings.
Has the Ather 450 lineup undergone any design changes?
With its latest iteration, the Ather 450 electric scooters continue to sport the same design. Thus, you get the same sharp front end with the LED headlight integrated into the apron and the turn indicators mounted on the handlebar cowl. Even the overall bodywork is just as compact for the new 450S and the 450Xs. The side panels get cuts and creases and add to the youthful appearance of the EV.
What are the differences between the three Ather 450 variants?
All three variants differ in terms of features and internals. The Ather 450S comes with the brand’s new seven-inch DeepView Display. On the other hand, the two 450X trims get a seven-inch TFT touchscreen model.
Then, there are the battery pack and motor specifications where the three 450 e-scooters differ. Ather has equipped the 450S with a 2.9kWh battery linked to a 5.4kW (peak power) motor. It gets a maximum range of 115km and a top speed of 90kmph (same for all three models). Then, the 450X gets two battery options: 2.9kWh and 3.7kWh. The smaller battery claims to offer a 111km range and the larger unit gets 150km. However, both are powered by a 6.4kW motor only.
The charging time for the 450S and the 450X (2.9kWh) is eight hours and 36 minutes whereas the same for the 450X (3.7kWh) is five hours and 45 minutes.
What hardware do the three new Ather scooters get?
All three models ride on telescopic front forks and a monoshock. Meanwhile, the braking hardware comprises a single front and rear disc with combined and regenerative braking as well. Even the tyre setup for the 450S and 450X modes is the same. They are equipped with 12-inch alloys wrapped in 90/90 front and 100/80 rear tubeless tyres.
Can all three models get the Pro Pack?
Yes, Ather will offer the Pro Pack for all three 450 e-scooter variants. It gives you access to four riding modes in the 450S: SmartEco, Eco, Ride and Sport. Meanwhile, the 450X gets five riding modes SmartEco, Eco, Ride, Sport, and Warp. Apart from that, there are other features like guide-me-home lights, coasting regen, navigation, tow/theft notifications, ride stats, inter-city parking and more. But to avail of the Pro Pack, buyers have to pay a premium of about Rs. 20,000.
What’s the asking price for the Ather 450S, and the two 450X variants?
The asking price for the Ather 450S is Rs. 1,29,999 whereas the 450X (2.9kWh) and 450X (3.7kWh) are priced at Rs. 1,38,000 and Rs. 1,44,921 (all ex-showroom, Bengaluru) respectively.
