Ather Energy has announced the date for its community day and the event is slated for April 6, in Bengaluru. Just like last year, the EV maker could unveil a new product this year too and we think that would be the Ather Rizta. As for Ather’s previous teasers of its upcoming family-friendly electric scooter, those are an indication of the launch followed by the probable unveil on April 6.
The Ather Rizta has been spotted many times and we know that its design will be completely new. The test mule has revealed that Ather seems to be taking a more practicality-oriented route for Rizta’s development. It not only appears bigger in the spy images but also more spacious near the floorboard area as well as the single-piece seat.
Then, the features are likely to include a fully digital instrument cluster, likely a touchscreen, with all the bells and whistles including smartphone connectivity, and more. We even expect the Ather Rizta to have ride modes, fast charging, navigation, and quite a few other bits that the current flagship Ather electric scooter boasts. That said, its battery, motor, range, and speed aren’t known yet.
Overall, the Ather Rizta will be aimed at fetching a new segment of the audience. This one would be for buyers looking for a larger scooter with space for storage, as well as two-up commuting. We expect it to be priced around Rs 1.25 lakh to Rs 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the TVS iQube S and the Ola S1 Pro.
