- Ather CEO reveals the Rizta e-scooter launch date
- It will debut on 6 April
- Likely to get loads of features like LED illumination, smartphone connectivity, and more
In one of the recent social media posts, Ather CEO, Tarun Mehta revealed that the Rizta electric scooter will make its debut on 6 April, at the Ather Community Day in Bengaluru.
The Rizta electric scooter has been spotted testing multiple times and we've seen multiple details in terms of design, hardware, and space as well. The latter is being highlighted as one of its biggest USPs with the company showcasing the scooter's long and wide seat.
Since this will be Ather’s first family-oriented scooter, Rizta’s design language is notably different from the current 450 lineup. It is expected to have conservative styling with a horizontal LED headlight on the font apron, flat side panels sans cuts and creases, and a rounded tail-section.
In one of the previously spied test scooters, the Rizta was seen being ridden with two full-size adults onboard along with a tail bag and some luggage on the floorboard. The overall utility aspect is what was highlighted here. The motor and battery details aren’t known as of now but we expect to see the scooter to offer a good balance between power and usable battery range.
Going by the size of the seat we expect the Rizta to offer a sizable underseat storage. We also expect, smartphone connectivity, USB charging port, ride modes, fast charging, navigation, and other features on the upcoming Ather electric scooter.
Once launched, we expect Ather to price the Rizta electric scooter around Rs 1.25 lakh to Rs 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom). It will go against the TVS iQube S and the Ola S1 series in the EV segment.
