-Gets LED headlight
-TFT display confirmed
-To be unveiled on 6 April
The Ather Rizta is going to be unveiled next month at the Ather Community Day, and prior to this a string of teasers have been published on social media. In the latest video released by Ather’s co-founder Swapnil Jain, one can see the new Rizta being subjected to a water wading test. Here’s where fresh details about the scooter have emerged.
Firstly, as the scooter enters the trench filled with water, one can see the front apron, albeit wrapped in camo. Nevertheless, it confirms the position of the bar type LED headlight that’s placed towards the bottom portion of the apron. The turn indicators might be placed at either side of the headlight but it is hard to confirm this as of now. It must be said that Rizta's front end does remind one of the TVS iQube.
One can also spot the Rizta's telescopic fork and a seemingly wide front tyre. The cowl above the apron is large and accommodates a new set of mirrors that appear to be wider than the ones you see on the Ather 450 range of scooters.
The video then jumps to the rider’s POV and here’s where one can notice the colour TFT display. This could possibly be the same unit that you see in the Ather 450X and is likely to feature Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, music controls and more. Also, the user interface, colours and fonts on the TFT display look similar to the ones in use currently on the 450X’s screen.
The water wading test that this electric scooter is going through demonstrates its ability of being ridden through a flooded street, simulating one of those days when roads are inundated with heavy rainfall during monsoons.
All said, there are a lot of expectations from the new Ather Rizta and more will be revealed on 6 April when the wraps are off the scooter. Watch this space for more.
