Ather Energy’s new electric scooter, Rizta, went on sale a few days ago. It marks the company’s foray into the family segment of electric scooters. Previously, Ather was focused on the young buyer looking for a sporty EV, which the 450-series delivered.
The Rizta is based on the 450 platform but it is a much larger scooter. It has a 900mm long seat, 34-litre underseat storage and is available in three variants. This includes the S with the 2.9kWh battery pack, the Z which gets additional features but comes with a 2.9kWh battery pack as the S and lastly the Rizta Z with the larger, 3.7kWh battery pack. As one can see, the Ather Rizta is priced almost at par in cities such as Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Chandigarh etc. The electric scooter is the most expensive in Bengaluru with Hyderabad being a close second. Bookings for the Ather Rizta have commenced and the deliveries will begin shortly.
To recap, the Ather Rizta with the 2.9kWh battery pack has a true range of 105km while the 3,7kWh battery offers a true range of 125km. The scooter has two modes-Smart Eco and Zip.
The Rizta has an impressive set of features as well. It includes traction control, underseat charger, LED lights, auto hold, and a seven-inch colour TFT with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation in the Z variant.
