- Ather to setup new plant in Tamil Nadu
- Will expand to 30 cities
- Will also develop an electric motorcycle
Ather Energy will setup a new factory in Tamil Nadu that will be spread across 40,000sq ft. The company signed a MoU for the same with the Tamil Nadu Government at the Investment and Skill Development conclave in Chennai.
This new plant will cater to the current as well as future demands. The company has plans to expand to 30 cities in the next few years. Its current batch of scooters for Chennai are sold out till December. The deliveries for these scooters are expected to commence in February-March 2020 period.
Ather has also been investing in setting up fast-charging infrastructure in Bengaluru & Chennai. Currently, Chennai has ten fast charging points and more will be added in the coming months. Post the success in the two cities, Ather is gearing up to launch in Hyderabad, Pune, Delhi and Mumbai in the coming year.
The Bengaluru-based company has plans to make an electric motorcycle as well. However, this product is still years away. But when it comes, expect it to equipped with great styling and class leading performance.
