Ather Energy is working on a new model of an electric scooter patent image of which has been leaked. The upcoming scooter looks more inclined towards practicality and convenience than the existing 450X model. 

As can be observed from the leaked image, the new model boasts design cues of a maxi-scooter with a large apron, a tall windscreen, and the Suzuki Burgman Street 125-like handlebar. It also seems to have a flatter and longer single-piece seat along with a more spacious floorboard. Nevertheless, the edgy and angular design lines are similar to the Ather 450X. 

The evident cycle parts include 12-inch alloy wheels, telescopic forks, and disc brakes. This electric scooter is likely to be positioned as the flagship product in Ather’s line-up, above the 450X. Hence, expect it to be more powerful and have a longer range. For reference, the Ather 450X delivers a range of up to 85km and it can achieve a top speed of 80kmph. This new scooter will also come equipped with modern features like full-LED lighting and a TFT console with connectivity options. 

If all the aforementioned speculations about it being the higher-spec e-scooter turn out to be true, it will definitely be more expensive than the 450X that retails at Rs 1.37 lakh (Plus) and Rs 1.56 lakh (Pro) (both prices are ex-showroom, Pune).
