Avan Motors, an indigenous electric two-wheeler maker, has showcased six electric scooter models at the 2018 Electric Vehicle Expo.
Among the six models, five will be powered by a 60V/20Ah lithium-ion battery and one will get a bigger 72V/32Ah lead acid battery. These will be available in three motor configurations including 800 watt, 1000 watt and 1200 watt. The top speed of the scooters will be limited to 45kmph while the battery range will vary from 50km to 80km.
Avan Motors has designed the scooters to make them look stylish and futuristic. They will boast of modern features such as LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, LED headlamp and tail lamp. For braking, all the models incorporate front disc and rear drum brake.
The company’s existing portfolio consists of two scooters, the Xero and Xero+. While the former gets a 250 watt motor, the latter consists of an 800 watt motor with both motors being powered by a 48V/24Ah battery. It is aiming to launch five new products in the near future and will be building them majorly with localised components while reducing the number of components being imported.
Avan Motors hasn’t given out the names and pricing details of the six new models and will be announcing them during the launch which is expected sometime next year.
