The recently launched Avenger range of motorcycles has had a good start. With three motorcycles – the Avenger Street 150 and 220 and the Cruise 220, the Pune-based manufacturer has managed to attract a lot of new buyers.
As per a website, Bajaj is selling 25,000 units of the new Avenger bikes. This was achieved by selling more than one variant of the Avenger bike. Out of the total sales, the Avenger Street 150 contributes the highest at 10,000 units each month. The Street 220 and the Cruise 220 takes care of the 15,000 units.
Bajaj hit the right sweet spot with the Street 150, as there were no other cruisers in that segment and price range. Previously, Indian buyers used to opt for a 150cc naked bike but with the introduction of Street 150, Bajaj has managed to steal some sales.
Interestingly, before the new Avenger was launched, the Pune-based manufacturer used to sell 4,000 units of the Avenger 220 per month. While Bajaj is bullish about its new cruisers, it is keeping a close watch on the market. With such a high success rate, there might be some manufacturers who would like to explore this segment.
Bajaj has done a great job with the Avenger Street 150. We’re expecting the sales numbers to increase in the next couple of months and settle between 30,000 and 35,000 units per month.
