Sources tell us that the Bajaj Pulsar 200NS could make a return and we feel it will feature a single-channel ABS this time around. The 200NS was discontinued to make way for the Pulsar AS200 which featured similar specifications. However, Bajaj feels that the 200NS has an established fan base and the launch could be next in line after the Pulsar CS400.
The production of the Pulsar 200NS has been suspended since August 2015 but there have been rumours of the motorcycle returning with fuel injection. However, that was for the export market only. Another rumour is that the 200NS is making a return with a single-channel ABS unit from the RS200. Furthermore, the motorcycle was also spotted with the front disc brake equipped with an ABS ring.
The bike will use the same 199.5cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled triple-spark unit that produces 23.2bhp and 18.3Nm of torque. It will come mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. Suspension duties will be performed by the same conventional telescopic forks in the front and a nitrox monoshock unit at the rear.
Bajaj produces the motorcycle but does not sell it in the Indian market. The automaker maybe in the process of increasing the production capacity at Chakan, Pune to relaunch the ABS-equipped Pulsar 200NS in India.
