Bajaj is going to launch the Pulsar AS200 and the Pulsar AS150 in the Indian market tomorrow. The Pulsar AS200 and the Pulsar AS150 mark the introduction of a new range of ‘Adventure Sport’ models in Bajaj’s Pulsar line-up, which will be aimed at touring enthusiasts.
Both the Pulsar AS200 and the Pulsar AS150 are built around the perimeter frame borrowed from the naked Pulsar 200NS. They get a semi-fairing which improves the aesthetics of the bike along with its aerodynamics. The headlamp design is very similar to the Pulsar 200NS, though both the Pulsar AS models get projector headlamps and a tall fairing. Powering the Pulsar AS200 is the same liquid-cooled 200cc single-cylinder engine from the Pulsar 200NS, while the Pulsar AS150 is expected to get a revised triple-spark version of the 149.5cc DTS-I unit.
The Adventure Sport range is one of Bajaj’s closely guarded secrets, and its existence was revealed less than two months ago when the pictures of the Pulsar AS200 were leaked by Indonesian media. With the expansion of the Pulsar range, Bajaj is aiming to fill all the gaps in its line-up and offer a wide range of products for consumers with different budgets. The Pulsar AS200 will go up against the Hero Karizma while the Pulsar AS150 will rival the Yamaha Fazer Version 2.0 and the Suzuki Gixxer SF.
