Bajaj has recorded a 22 per cent growth in the Indian market in July 2018 as compared to the corresponding month in 2017. With over 2 lakh motorcycles sold, the Pune-based manufacturer has cemented its position as the fourth-largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the country.
To be precise, Bajaj sold 2.01 lakh motorcycles in the domestic market in the last month as opposed to the 1.64 lakh units it had managed in July 2017. The exports also witnessed a huge surge, growing from one lakh units to 1.31 lakh units. Overall, Bajaj sold 3.32 lakh motorcycles in the last month as opposed to 2.65 lakh motorcycles in July 2017.
The CT100, which is the most affordable motorcycle in the country, continues to be the highest selling model in Bajaj’s portfolio. Next in line is the Pulsar 150, which is the highest selling 150cc commuter bike in the country. Over the new couple of years, Bajaj will be entering the electric vehicle market space with a new brand called ‘Urbanite’.
