Bajaj has recorded a 23 per cent jump in domestic motorcycle sales in May 2018 as compared to the corresponding month in 2017. The company sold 1.92 lakh motorcycles in the domestic market in the last month, cementing its position as country’s fourth largest two-wheeler brand.
As compared to this, Bajaj had sold 1.56 lakh motorcycles in India in May 2017. Even the export numbers have been impressive. The company shipped off 1.5 lakh motorcycles to its global markets in the last month as opposed to 1.2 lakh motorcycles, reflecting a 24.4 per cent jump. Overall, the company sold 3.42 lakh motorcycles in May 2018, which is 23.6 per cent higher than May 2017.
The CT100 has been the highest selling motorcycle in Bajaj’s range, followed by the Pulsar 150 and the Platina. The Pulsar 150 currently holds the mantle as the highest selling 150cc bike in the country. The company recently introduced a sportier variant of the bike, called the Pulsar 150 Twin-Disc, to further widen its appeal.
