Bajaj Auto is aiming to increase its share in two-wheeler market from the current 24 per cent to somewhere in the range of 27-30 per cent. The company has set this target based on their series of launched planned for next few months. "Our domestic market share presently stands at around 24% and we would like to take it to 27-30%,”said Kevin D'Sa, CFO, Bajaj Auto.
The company will be launching the KTM Duke 390 in next few weeks to capture the fast growing premium motorcycle market. Also, they might launch the Kawasaki Ninja 300 which was recently spotted testing near Pune. However, to get most of the market share, they need to launch products in the commuter and economy segment where the sales are currently the highest.
The last product from Bajaj Auto was the Discover 100T which was launched at Rs 50,500 as the company didn’t have a 100cc motorcycle at that price bracket which will compete with Hero Passion Pro and Honda Dream Yuga. As a strategy to achieve the target, the company has recently begun advertising the Discover 125T through TV commercials as well as in the print media.
