Bajaj Auto is planning to hike the prices of its motorcycles in coming few days. The company has taken this decision due to high input costs and depreciating rupee. The company however hasn’t confirmed the quantum of planned price hike.
"It seems likely that we have to raise prices because commodity prices have gone up significantly, partly owed also to the way forex has moved," said Bajaj Auto.
The Pune based manufacturer might have a tough time deciding on the quantum of price hike as the festival season will start soon. This is the time when every manufacturer tries to cash on as much as sales as they can due to positive buying sentiment. We can also expect the KTM 390 Duke ABS to get the maximum price hike as it is still being sold with an introductory price of Rs 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
