Bajaj Auto Limited, has registered a three per cent rise in domestic sales for June as compared to the the corresponding period, last year. Bajaj sold 3,13,020 two wheelers in the last month, helping it retain the title of second largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the country.
The commercial vehicles of Bajaj fared better as the company sold 43,263 units in the last month, which is 5 per cent more than it sold in May 2013. Out of the total 3,05,465 vehicles produced in June 2014, Bajaj exported 1,35,074 units to its foreign markets, which is 12 per cent more than it managed in the same period, last year.
Earlier this year, Bajaj launched the newest addition to the commuter facially, the Discover 125, which has helped Bajaj show a decent growth. While motorcycles have been seeing consistent sales numbers, the sales of scooters has seen an unprecedented rise for the past few months. Bajaj is one of the few manufacturers who don’t have a scooter in its line-up, which seems to have affected its overall sales numbers.
Bajaj has a number bike of launches slated for this year, which includes a faired 150cc version of the Discover, the Pulsar SS400 and Pulsar SS200 among others. The latter two bikes have been spotted testing a few times and have created a quite a buzz. This expansion of the line-up will surely attract many customers and help Bajaj increase its sales numbers.
