Two and three-wheeler manufacturer, Bajaj Auto, has achieved a one per cent increase in sales for March 2014. In the motorcycles segment they achieved sales of 2,70,591 units as against 2,67,037 units sold last year in March.
In comparison to March 2013 where they sold 3,01,231 units, this year, for the same month they secured sales of 3,04,330 units. These figures are from both commercial vehicles and motorcycles sales. Meanwhile, the company’s total exports out of the above stood at 1,18,183 units, an increase of 17 per cent as compared to 1,01,374 units sold in the corresponding month last year.
Earlier last month, Bajaj GM (east) Prasad Vaze told PTI, "With the new launch of Discover 125, we completed the offering in the 125cc segment targeting price-sensitive 125cc segment. We already have a full range in the 100cc. With better market outlook, we hope to grow healthy.” The company has its hopes pinned on the Discover and the Pulsar, (a legacy in itself) only if their products garner the required results will Bajaj see a better report card next month.
