The ABS-equipped Bajaj Avenger 220 is priced at Rs 1.02 lakhs (ex-showroom). We list out nine motorcycles you can choose to buy at a similar price point.
Let’s begin with the Avenger 220’s closest rival, the Suzuki Intruder 150 which is also priced at Rs 1.02 lakhs. As compared to the Avenger, the Intruder 150 offers a more modern and unique design along with features like a rear monoshock. It is powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 14.6bhp and 14Nm of torque. You can also opt for a fuel-injected version of the Intruder 150 which retails at Rs 1.08 lakhs.
From Suzuki’s stables itself comes a full-faired motorcycle; the Gixxer SF retailing at Rs 98,354. It is also offered in a fuel-injected variant which costs Rs 1.02 lakhs. The Gixxer offers an upright riding position and uses the same 155cc motor that powers the Intruder 150. In a similar body style as the Gixxer, there is the Hero Karizma ZMR. The motorcycle gets a distinctive vertically stacked headlamp, slightly lower-set handlebars and a split-seat for a sporty appearance. Under its full-fairing is a 223cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, air-cooled engine that produces 20bhp and 19.7Nm of torque. Hero has priced the Karizma ZMR at Rs 1.08 lakhs.
Bajaj also offers a motorcycle with a sporty intent; the Pulsar 220F. The bike gets a half-fairing, uniquely-shaped projector headlamp, a sharp rear section that offers a split-seat setup. The bike is priced at Rs 1.05 lakhs and was recently updated with an ABS system. The Pulsar 220F is powered by a 220cc, single-cylinder, carburetted, air-cooled engine that puts out 21bhp and 19Nm of torque. You can also opt for the Pulsar NS200, a streetfighter from Bajaj priced at Rs 1.11 lakhs. It is powered by a 199cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, carburetted engine that is good for 23.2bhp and 18.3Nm of torque.
In the streetfighter category, TVS offers two motorcycles; the Apache RTR 200 4V and the Apache RTR 180 ABS. The Apache RTR 180 ABS is priced at Rs 95,392. It uses a 177cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that puts out 17.3bhp and 15.5Nm of torque. The Apache RTR 200 4V sports sharp lines and creases all through its bodywork that exude the bike’s racing intent. Powering the bike is a 197cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled, carburetted motor that produces 20.7bhp and 18.1Nm of torque. While the carburetted version with ABS costs Rs 1.10 lakhs, the FI version with ABS is priced at Rs 1.13 lakhs.
