Bajaj Auto is yet to announce the launch details of the BS6 compliant Avenger range. While we await an official launch announcement, a leaked document has revealed the power output figure of the BS6 compliant Avenger Cruise 220 and the Avenger Street 220 motorcycles. The 220cc, single-cylinder engine, despite complying with the BS6 emission norms, continues to deliver the same power output numbers as the BS4 motor. The peak power output is rated at 18.7bhp at 8,400rpm.
Apart from the power output figures, the leaked document also reveals the key dimensions of the BS6 Avenger Cruise 220 and the Avenger Street 220. The length, width and wheelbase are identical on the BS6 bike are identical to the BS4 motorcycles. The overall height of the Cruise 220 BS6 is now lower (1,142mm vs 1,321mm) than the BS4 bike. The Street BS6 220, on the other hand, is just as tall (1,070mm) as the BS4 motorcycle.
The changes will be limited to the mechanical upgrade. The styling will remain unaltered, and the BS6 compliant Avenger Cruise 220 and the Avenger Street 220 will retain the cruiser motorcycle design from the BS4 motorcycle. The feature list will continue to comprise of LED DRLs, digital instrument cluster, wide rear tyre and single-channel ABS.
The prices for the BS6 compliant Avenger Cruise 220 and Avenger Street 220 are already out, and the motorcycles will be available at Rs 1,15,456 (ex-showroom Delhi).
