- Likely to be launched this month
- Unofficial bookings have commenced
- Could be priced similarly to the Cruise variant
Bajaj Auto is seemingly gearing up for the launch of its upcoming cruiser offering, the Avenger 220 Street. Our sources have revealed that the bike is set to arrive at dealerships very soon and the unofficial bookings have already commenced with a token amount of Rs. 2,000.
The Avenger 220 Street will be powered by the same engine as the Cruise variant. Thus, it gets a 220cc single-cylinder motor that makes 18.76bhp and 17.55Nm. The engine is linked to a five-speed gearbox. Even the telescopic front forks, dual rear shocks, and braking hardware are expected to be similar to those of the Cruise model’s.
However, the two trims differ in terms of the design. The 220 Street sports a cleaner and minimalistic silhouette unlike the Cruiser’s, which gets a large front windscreen, chrome bits at the front, an exhaust, a padded backrest, and other elements. Moreover, Bajaj could equip the 220 Street with alloy wheels, unlike the current model’s spoked wheels.
Features like a fully digital console with readouts of the fuel level and temperature along with the speedometer, odometer, trip meter, and more are expected for the upcoming Bajaj 220 Street. Currently, the Avenger 220 Cruise costs Rs. 1.43 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and the 22-0 Street is also expected to be priced similarly.
