Several Bajaj dealerships across the country have started to accept unofficial bookings for the BS6 compliant Avenger Cruise 220 and the Avenger Street 160. Surprisingly, dealers also stated that the Street 220 has been discontinued, and the BS6 compliant Avenger range will only comprise of the Cruise 220 and the Street 160. Bajaj Auto is yet to make an official announcement, and the Street 220 is still listed on the company’s website.
The BS6 Avenger range has started to arrive at several dealerships, although the company has not announced the launch of the motorcycles. We had previously reported that the BS6 compliant Avenger Cruise 220 and the Street 160 will be priced at Rs 1,15,456 and Rs 89,536 respectively. With the BS6 upgrade, the Cruise 220 and the Street 160 are expensive by Rs 11,500 and Rs 7,000 over the BS4 motorcycles respectively.
Mechanical specifications on the Avenger Cruise 220 BS6 include a 220cc, single-cylinder engine that, as revealed by leaked specifications, will produce 18.7bhp. In comparison, the Avenger Cruise 220 BS4 model was tuned to produce 19bhp. The power output for the Street 160 BS6 are not available yet. The Street 160 BS4, for reference, made 14.8bhp and 13.5Nm from its 160cc, single-cylinder engine.
