Bajaj Auto is yet to announce the launch of the updated, BS6 compliant Avenger range, even as the motorcycles have started to reach several dealerships across the country. While we await a launch announcement, leaked documents have revealed the engine specifications and dimensions of the upcoming, BS6 compliant Avenger Street 160.
According to leaked data, the BS6 compliant Bajaj Avenger Street 160 will produce 14.75bhp at 8,500rpm. In comparison, the BS4 model of the cruiser motorcycle produced 14.79bhp. The dimensions, too, remain unaltered, and the Bajaj Avenger Street 160 BS6 continues to be 2,210mm long, 806mm wide and 1,070mm tall. The wheelbase of 1,490mm, too, is identical to the BS4 motorcycle.
The styling cues will not undergo any major changes, and the Bajaj Avenger 160 BS6 will continue to feature a halogen headlight with a LED DRL, fly-screen and a semi-digital instrument cluster. Hardware on the motorcycle will continue to include conventional telescopic front forks, twin-sided rear springs, disc brake at the front, drum brake at the back and a single-channel ABS.
Dealer sources have already revealed that the Bajaj Avenger BS6 will be priced at Rs 89,536 (ex-showroom Pune).
