- Bajaj Avenger range now comprises of Avenger Cruise 220 and Avenger Street 160
- Both bikes comply with BS6 emission norms
- No official announcement about Avenger Street 220’s future
Bajaj Auto has updated its India website and removed the products that did not receive the BS6 upgrade. Among the list of missing motorcycles on the company’s website is the Avenger Street 220. While Bajaj Auto has not made any official announcement about the motorcycle, dealer sources had indicated in the past that the model has been discontinued.
Bajaj Auto’s current Avenger range that is listed on the website includes the BS6-compliant Avenger Cruise 220 and the Avenger Street 160. The 220cc cruiser is priced at Rs 1,16,672 while the Avenger Street 160 is available at Rs 94,893 (both ex-showroom Delhi).
The Avenger Street 220 shared its engine with the Avenger Cruise 220, which has already received the BS6 upgrade. Thus, there’s a possibility that the company may revive the Avenger Street 220. There is, however, no official information available about the future of the motorcycle.
The BS6 compliant 220cc, single-cylinder engine with fuel injection system on the Avenger Cruise 220 is tuned to produce 18.7bhp at 8,500rpm and 17.55Nm at 7,000rpm. The motor is linked to a five-speed gearbox.
