-Affordable new Chetak variant
-Priced at Rs 95,998
Bajaj Auto has launched the most affordable Chetak yet. The Chetak 2901, as it is badged, is priced at Rs 95,998, ex-showroom, Bangalore. It sits below the Urbane and Premium variants of the Chetak and as expected Bajaj has priced it below the Rs 1 lakh mark. This sub Rs 1 lakh Chetak variant was the need of the hour for Bajaj as competition had variants around the same price ball park.
The Bajaj Chetak 2901 has the same styling as the rest of the Chetak variants. This isn’t a bad thing considering the scooter looks good with its modern-retro design. However, Bajaj has introduced bold colours which should appeal to a wider range of people, including the youth. The Chetak 2901 is available in four colours-Red, White, Black, Lime Yellow and Azure Blue.
Bajaj has also equipped the scooter with a lot of features. The list includes a colour digital instrument cluster that also gets Bluetooth connectivity. Customers can also purchase the TecPac that enables features such as Hill Hold, Reverse mode, Sport and Economy modes, call and music control, Follow me home lights and Bluetooth App connectivity.
As for the range, Bajaj claims that the Chetak 2901 can cover 123km in a single charge as per ARAI certification. The real world range will be lower than this.
Bookings for the Chetak 2901 are open across 500 showrooms in India. In terms of competition, the scooter goes up against the TVSiQube, Ather Rizta and the Ola S1X and the Ola S1 Air.
