- 3501 and 3502 variants available with five colours each
- Each variant gets a few unique colours
- Gets a 3.5kWh battery pack and a 153km certified range
Bajaj Auto recently launched the new-generation Chetak 35 Series in India, priced from Rs. 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom). The electric scooter is available in eight colour options, spread across two variants. There’s also a third variant, the Chetak 3503, but Bajaj is yet to reveal its price and specifications.
Both, the Chetak 3501 and the Chetak 3502 get five colours each. However, some paint schemes are shared between the two while some colours are exclusive to each variant. The 3501 is the top-spec trim that is available in Pista Green, Hazelnut, Indigo Metallic, Brooklyn Black, and Matte Scarlett Red shades. Meanwhile, the mid-spec 3502 variant gets the Indigo Metallic, Brooklyn Black, Matte Charcoal Grey, and Cyber White paint schemes.
The Bajaj Chetak 35 Series may look similar in design to the other models, but underneath it gets an all-new frame, new motor and controller, and a bigger floorboard-mounted battery pack. It rides on a longer wheelbase and even the seat length is longer than 80mm.
The Bajaj Chetak is powered by a new 4kW permanent magnet motor that propels the scooter to a top speed of 73kph. It gets a 3.5kW battery pack that offers a claimed range of 153km on a full charge. The top-spec model gets a 950W onboard quick charger that charges the scooter from 0-80 per cent in three hours.
Bajaj claims that the new Chetak features the largest boot space in the EV segment at 35 litres. On the features front, it gets a five-inch TFT touchscreen display with integrated maps from Mappls. The 3502 makes do with a similar, but non-touch-type TFT display.
