Bajaj Auto has expanded its electric scooter portfolio with the launch of the Chetak 35 series. In this story, we have talked about the mid-spec model, the Chetak 3502. Here are its top five highlights.
Design
The Chetak 3502’s design is identical to the 3501, 3503, and all other Chetak models. It sports the same round headlight with an LED setup followed by curvy side panels and a protruding rear profile. While this is a textbook design for the Chetak to carry forward its retro look, Bajaj has made a few tweaks to the setup. The 35 series’ battery is positioned below the floorboard and it gets an 80mm longer seat as well. Moreover, the chassis is revised, the rear wheel has been pushed backwards and the Chetak 35 series gets a deeper and larger underseat storage of 35 litres.
Features
Along with the LED illumination, the Bajaj Chetak 3502 comes with a TFT that offers smartphone connectivity with features such as turn-by-turn navigation, call and music control, as well as SMS and call notifications. It gets a mechanical key setup and comes with two ride modes - Eco and Sports.
Motor and Battery
Powering the Chetak 3502 is a 3.5kWh battery mated to a 4kW motor. The setup offers 153km IDC range and a top speed of 73kmph. The 3502’s battery charges up to 80 percent in three hours and 25 minutes.
Hardware
It uses a monoshock setup on both ends while the braking duties are done by a front disc and rear drum brakes mounted on the steel wheels.
Price
The asking price for the Chetak 3502 is set at Rs. 1,20,000 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). This makes it about Rs. 7,000 more affordable than the 3501 variant.
