- Online bookings in Pune and Bengaluru to open on 28 July
- To be available in two variants (Urbane and Premium)
- Prices start from Rs 1.42 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards
The bookings for the Bajaj Chetak electric scooter have reopened in Pune and Bengaluru from 28 July, 2021. Interested buyers can register on the company’s website. The company had closed bookings in the two cities in April 2021 as all units of the electric scooter were sold out.
The company had suspended production due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdown in the country. This caused a major delay in its launch in new cities. But the company has commenced operations and it is aggressively expanding in new cities. Bajaj plans to offer the Chetak electric scooter in 22 new cities by 2022. The company is already accepting bookings in Nagpur while it will soon commence the reservations in Mysore, Mangalore, and Aurangabad.
The Chetak electric scooter is available in two variants in the Indian market, Urbane and Premium. The Urbane is available at Rs 1.42 lakh while the Premium has been listed at Rs 1.44 lakh (both ex-showroom, Pune). Both variants are powered by a 3.8kW motor that is fueled by a non-removable 3kWh IP67 lithium-ion battery pack. The company claims a top speed of 70kmph and a range of 95km (in Eco mode).
