- Bajaj Chetak electric scooter prices hiked
- Urbane model is Rs 27,620 more expensive now
- Premium variant is pricier by Rs 24,620
The Bajaj Chetak electric scooter had received a price hike last month that had made its Urbane and Premium versions pricier by Rs 15,000 and Rs 5,000, respectively. While that was already a substantial increment, the Chakan-based bike maker has increased the prices of the scooter once again and by a higher margin this time.
The Urbane model of the Chetak now costs Rs 1,42,620 that is Rs 27,620 more than the previous pricing. On the other hand, the Premium trim is now dearer by Rs 24,620 and carries a price tag of Rs 1,44,620 (both prices are ex-showroom, Pune). Bajaj has introduced the Chetak only in Pune and Bengaluru until now, but the bookings are currently closed even in these cities. The company had recently re-opened the bookings but closed them down after the entire batch was booked within 48 hours. As per the brand’s recent social media post, the Chetak will be launched in Hyderabad and Chennai soon.
Talking about the tech specs of the Bajaj Chetak, it is propelled by a 3.8kW motor that gets all the needed juices from a non-removable 3kWh IP67 lithium-ion battery pack. The range delivered from this battery is claimed to be 95km if ridden in Eco mode. Meanwhile, the speed maxes out at 70kmph. The charging package of the Chetak comprises of a built-in charger placed under the seat which can be connected to any 5-ampere power socket.
The main rivals of the Bajaj Chetak are the TVS iQube and the Ather 450X in the premium, high-speed electric scooter category.
