Bajaj Chetak electric scooter bookings have again commenced online. Customers need to pay a booking amount of Rs 2,000 online. Booking cancellation charges are currently Rs 1,000. The ex-showroom (Bengaluru) price of the scooter starts at Rs 1,15,000. The company had stopped the bookings of the electric scooter in September 2020 as they were hit by a supply chain issue and were not able to add more cities, but now, finally, the bookings have commenced again.
The Riding range of the electric scooter is said to be 95km on a full charge in eco-mode. It takes five hours for the scooter to charge completely and 60 minutes for a quick charge up to 25 per cent. The Chetak can be charged at any three-pin AC 220V, 5A grounded (earthed) wall socket. The electric scooter uses a lithium-ion battery which is designed to last for 70,000km.
In order to illuminate the road, it uses an LED headlamp complemented by horseshoe-shaped DRLs. All the thrust and forces are taken by a robust steel frame on which the scooter is based. Body panels of the scooter are also made of steel. Chetak is offered with a warranty of three years or 50,000km, whichever is earlier. The electric scooter is available in two variants and six colours, which are further classified as premium and urbane.
