Bajaj Chetak electric scooter has crossed the 5,000-unit sales milestone in Maharashtra. The first electric scooter from Bajaj Auto is currently available in five cities in Maharashtra – Aurangabad, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nashik, and Pune. Apart from Maharashtra, the scooter is also available in Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Goa, Daman and Diu, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and West Bengal.
The Chetak electric scooter uses a 3.8kW motor powered by a non-removable 3kWh IP67 lithium-ion battery pack. The company claims a top speed of 70kmph and a range of 95km (in Eco mode). The online bookings are currently open for the Premium variant of the electric scooter. It is priced at Rs 1,19,684 (ex-showroom, Pune).
The Premium variant of the Chetak is available in four colours – Brooklyn Black, Hazel Nut, Indigo Metallic, and Velluto Rosso. The feature list on the electric scooter comprises full-LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster, and Bluetooth connectivity.
