The Bajaj Chetak will be introduced in Chennai and Hyderabad soon, the brand’s social media channels revealed.
The electric scooter which is currently available only in Pune and Bengaluru received a couple of price hikes in a short span of time recently. While the Urbane version costs Rs 1.42 lakh, the Premium version carries a price tag of Rs 1.44 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune). Moreover, Bajaj has also temporarily closed bookings for the scooter after opening it for a brief period of two days.
Now, the Bajaj Chetak is powered by a 3.8kW motor and a non-removable 3kWh IP67 lithium-ion battery pack. The scooter claims a range of 95km if ridden in Eco mode and a top speed of 70kmph. The built-in charger fitted under the seat can be connected to a 5-amp power socket that is easily available nowadays. In this space, the market also has other electric scooter offerings like the TVS iQube and the Ather 450X.
