Bajaj opened its new factory to make the famous Chetak electric scooters. This new plant is in Akurdi, Pune and it is the same place where the company used to make the Chetaks. However, this new plant will manufacture only electric scooters for now and has the capabilities to make close to half a million units a year. This plant in Pune employs close to 11,000 people directly and indirectly and this number could grow when Bajaj starts to make EVs for Husqvarna, KTM and Gas Gas.
