- Bajaj Chetak price increase by Rs 12,749
- Now costs Rs 1.54 lakh
- No changes to features or motor
Bajaj Auto has bumped up the prices of its entire motorcycle line-up in India recently. And along with the Pulsars, Avengers and commuter range, the company’s only electric two-wheeler- the Chetak also gets a hike for July.
The scooter is now priced at Rs 1.54 lakh, ex-showroom Pune which makes it a whopping Rs 12,749 more expensive than its previous price tag of Rs 1.41 lakh. Compared to the rest of the price increase in its line-up of motorcycles, Bajaj has hiked the Chetak’s price by a substantial 9 per cent. However, despite the price hike, the electric scooter remains the same in terms of styling, features and hardware as well.
That said, Bajaj has sold over 14,000 units of the Chetak since its launch in 2019. And the company is looking to cater to the existing 10,000 bookings it has received with the opening of its new manufacturing plant in Akurdi, Pune. This facility is already operational and is capable of assembling upto 5 lakh units annually. Moreover, this plant will also produce EVs for KTM, Husqvarna and Gas Gas.
