Bajaj is set to launch the new Chetak Premium in India tomorrow, 5 January. The details of the upcoming electric scooter have also been leaked now.
To begin with, the new Chetak gets a new TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. Through this the rider will be able to manage calls, play music and use turn-by-turn navigation as well. Additionally, the display theme can also be changed. That said, the Chetak also gets hill hold control, reverse mode and sequential turn indicators.
Moreover, the new electric scooter will also get a bigger battery that will be a step-up from the 2.9kWh battery on the current model. This bump in power has extended the range to 125km (claimed) on a full charge. The details also reveal that the Chetak will have a top-speed of 73kmph and offer two ride modes- Eco and Sport.
With the additional features and changes, we expect Bajaj to increase the price of the Chetak Premium over the previous Rs 1.20 lakh pricing. It will compete against the Ola S1 and the Ather 450 S in the country.
