Bajaj Auto has confirmed that it will expand the availability of its Chetak electric scooter in Kolkata, West Bengal. The online bookings for the Chetak have commenced on the company’s website and the electric scooter has been priced at Rs 1,53,298 (ex-showroom). Interested buyers can book the electric scooter online for a token amount of Rs 2,000. It will be sold via the Chetak at Ruby Crossing outlet.
The vehicle will be sold in four colours – Brooklyn Black, Hazel Nut, Indigo Metallic, and Velluto Rosso. The estimated on-road price is listed at Rs 1,65,551. The electric scooter is powered by a 3.8kW motor that is fuelled by a non-removable 3kWh IP67 lithium-ion battery pack. The top speed is rated at 70kmph while the claimed range stands at 90km (in Eco mode).
In more updates, Bajaj Auto plans to expand its electric vehicle range. The Pune-based manufacturer is reportedly planning to launch new electric vehicles in the low and mid-speed segments. The company will introduce new models with Yulu – an electric vehicle company that received investment from Bajaj a few years ago.
